Elipse gastric balloon is the process of swallowing the uninflated capsule-shaped balloon at the end of a thin wire with the help of plenty of water without the need for anesthesia. After the balloon reaches the stomach, it is inflated with the help of a wire-like apparatus at the end of the balloon. Then the apparatus at the end is removed. The process takes approximately 20 minutes. The balloon is expelled spontaneously after 4 months. With this procedure, 20-50% of excess weight can be lost.
